I was honoured to be part of David and Linda’s Wish to Wed. It was a lovely ceremony in the quaint St. Augustine’s Parish in Marpole. It was amazing to see Linda walk down the aisle! The reception was a lot of fun too. The gorgeous decor, a beautiful and delicious meal and the prettiest of cakes and David’s custom suit were all provided by volunteers through A Wish to Wed. As one of the guests says in the video, “No one deserves this more than David and Linda”
A Wish To Wed Society grants wedding and vow renewal wishes to those who are stricken with life threatening illnesses and medical conditions, and find themselves in a challenging financial situation.
Dave and Linda met on a dog walk 13 years ago in a Vancouver park. Some time after the couple was confronted with one of life’s biggest challenges: Linda was diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), a deteriorating illness. But their love conquered all hardships. The couple learned to enjoy every day to the fullest and have become active volunteers in their community. However, the couple’s biggest dream to become husband and wife remained unfulfilled because of Linda’s need for a constant oxygen feed as well as financial challenges.
Dave found out about A Wish to Wed Society. The couple sent in their application and were chosen as the next wish recipients. Dave and Linda’s wedding wish was held on March 25, 2016 at Vancouver’s St. Augustine’s church.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”80px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/S-ub7GihTek”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
