The Mount Pleasant Family Centre was one of our favourite places to go each week when my daughter was a toddler. They provide a morning program for ages 0-5, it includes free play, crafts, puzzles, water/sand table and tons of great toys. Then there is book time, song time and snack time. And, the annual membership is on $35 for the whole year. The best part about Family Place is that they have a lounge downstairs and parents can leave their child upstairs with the ladies while they enjoy a coffee or tea. I only managed this a few times due to my daughter’s separation anxiety but, I cherished it.
Every year for Canada Day they host an excellent, family friendly event to celebrate. It includes, musical performances, crafts, face painting, and ususally the Dairy School comes with a cow to milk.
This year, 2015, they asked for volunteer photograpers for the event, so, I volunteered. It was a lot of fun! My favourite is Red Bird. He walks on stilts while playing uculele and singing everyone’s favourite songs, even Katy Perry and Let is Go from Frozen!
