My daughter and I have been visiting Southlands Heritage Farm since she was a toddler. We always have a great time at Southlands. The farm feels like an oasis, its a slice of the country, right at the edge of the city. The people are inviting, the animals are friendly and the clay oven pizza is delicious.
We recently attended their annual Sheep Shearing event. It is amazing to watch this woman tackle a huge sheep and maneuver it to be able to remove the thick, wooly coat in one piece. It takes strength, skill and years of experience.
I couldn’t get my daughter to leave on this day. Between watching the sheep being sheared, to pony rides, rope swingin, making pizza, toasting marshmallows, holding chickens and galloping with the goats, she would have gladly stayed there forever. It is a pleasure to watch her having so much fun doing all natural activities. Who needs screen time when you have all this at Southlands Heritage Farm?!
